UNTV Pays Tribute to Ang Dating Daan, To Air Special Presentation

iReport
iReport —On the 31st anniversary of Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path),  a special presentation will be aired by UNTV on October 31 to celebrate  and pay tribute to the contribution of the award-winning program and  its host in the society.

UNTV airs the special presentation from 9 a.m. to 12 n.n. A continuation of the first part will follow at 8 a.m. to 12 m.n.
From answering biblical queries of live audience to mounting blood  donation drives and tree-planting activities, to rendering humanitarian  reliefs and other public charities, Ang Dating Daan has been commended  by a number of private and government sectors for inspiring change and  transforming lives for the better.

Thirty one years after introducing biblical exposition on Philippine airwaves, Ang Dating Daan, hosted by Bro Eli Soriano, has grown into one of the most recognized religious shows in more than 50 countries today.

To date, the program has established its presence in India, Europe, and  the South American continent. Apart from radio and television, Ang  Dating Daan’s broadcast has branched out into the Web with Bro Eli's  live webcast through Livestream.com.

Bro Eli is an internationally-recognized evangelist, who in 2009 won the prestigious Most Educational Blogger to Follow award from Mashable.com, besting more than 400,000 nominees worldwide: a first for a Filipino in the said online competition.

At the Oscars's for Twitter, Shorty Awards, the preacher earned third  place last year when  his @BroEliSoriano earned a finalist slot in the TV Show category.  From early 80s to mid-90s, he was a consistent leadership awardee from  various media and socio-civic groups in the Philippines.

Overseas, his Bible Expositions are well-attended with visitors  wondering why the truth that Bro Eli preaches only arrived to them  recently. Some are asking how someone from the Philippines is capable of  memorizing the Bible and holding such seemingly endless reserve of  biblical wisdom.

A Failed Attempt to Defend The Doctrine of Purgatory

My blog site has been a favorite venue of detractors trying to (hopelessly) defend their erroneous faith which can never be proven Biblical. I felt like laughing on top of my voice when I read a portion of their comments and defenses which follows:
Reply:
Purgatory is biblical. It comes from latin; Purgationem Peccatorum.
Heb 1:3 “qui cum sit splendor gloriae et figura substantiae eius portansque omnia verbo virtutis suae PURGATIONEM PECCATORUM faciens sedit ad dexteram Maiestatis in excelsis”
Translation:
Heb 1:3 “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself PURGED OUR SINS, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”
By merely looking at the verse and using 5% of the 100% capacity of our brains to discern and understand things, you can easily notice that the person who posted his defense in favor of the Catholic Church’s doctrine of purgatory is inane, insane!
Does the Latin term purgationem peccatorum” mean purgatory? Translated into English, it is “purged our sins,” not purgatory! And who purged our sins? According to the verse, “He” referring to Christ, purged our sins. Aren’t you implying now, whoever you are, that Christ is purgatory? Oh, come on!
And notice the verse that says, after purging our sins “He sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.” Will that imply now that purgatory is in the throne of God? Come on! Catholic doctrine defines purgatory as a place between heaven and hell so it cannot be sitting in the throne of God.
Take note that it is the Council of Trent of the Catholic Church, not the Bible, that asserted the doctrine of purgatory!
The greatest of the Malayan race, Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal, in his famous book, Noli Me Tangere, said categorically after reading the whole Bible that there is no purgatory in the Bible! Mind you, Dr. Rizal speaks more than 22 languages. He surely is knowledgeable of Latin and Spanish. And he said purgatory is not in the Bible as Rizal is neither inane nor insane.
The Catholic doctrine of purgatory is not founded on Biblical teachings. The alleged mention of praying for the dead in the book of Maccabeus, (this book is not part of the Bible until the Catholic Church included it in 1546) does not in any manner imply that there is a purgatory!
Praying for the dead was never a part of the Christian doctrine! The Lord Jesus Christ, or anyone of His apostles, never taught any idea of it!

I CORINTHIANS 4:6 (REVISED STANDARD VERSION)
I have applied all this to myself and Apol’los for your benefit, brethren, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another.
The word purgatory cannot be found in the writings of the apostles nor have the slightest idea of it!
If Christians are to be purged from their sins, it has to be in this life and not in the hereafter. It is through the atoning power of the death of Christ that we are purged from our sins, not in purgatory.
HEBREWS 10:10-12
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;

ISAIAH 53:3-5
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

“and with his stripes we are healed” not by purgatory!

I CORINTHIANS 15:3
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures;
The sufferings of Christ and the offering of His body is sufficient to purge our sins!

Human Souls Are Purged But Not in Purgatory

II TIMOTHY 3:16 (THE AMERICAN STANDARD VERSION)
Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness.
All Scriptures inspired of God are profitable for:
•        Teaching
•        Reproof
•        Correction
•        Instruction
These are the main concerns of every Scripture inspired of God! Historical wise, Scriptures teach, reprove, correct and instruct in righteousness.
The long history of the Israelites as a people teaches every generation thereafter with correction, reproof and instruction.
I CORINTHIANS 10:6, 11
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
Prophetic wise, all Scriptures inspired of God, convey the same thoughts and intent.
DEUTERONOMY 28:47-48
47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
JEREMIAH 25:11
And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
All matters of faith must be learned from the inspired Scriptures, no more, no less!
I CORINTHIANS 4:6 (REVISED STANDARD VERSION)
I have applied all this to myself and Apol’los for your benefit, brethren, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another.
“…that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written…”
Why not go beyond?
Because they were written by the commandment of the Lord.
I CORINTHIANS 14:37
If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
REVELATION 21:5
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Any article or matter of faith not written in the Scriptures should not be accepted by a prudent servant of God.
GALATIANS 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Beliefs not written in the Scriptures come from satan!
II CORINTHIANS 11:3-4, 13-15
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Teachings coming from satan through his ministers are camouflaged to make it appear as though they were of God!
Alleging that the doctrine of purgatory is in the Latin Bible is a clear manifestation of doctrinal bankruptcy! It’s clear that it is not in the Hebrew and Greek Bible, the original languages used in the writing of the sacred Scriptures! And to claim that the Bible is a book owned by the Catholic Church, is another blatant stupid claim. The official name of the Catholic Church only formulated in the late 19th century is, “The Holy Roman Catholic Apostolic Church”.
Why is the original Bible not written in the language of Rome but instead in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic which were never the official language of the Roman Catholic Church? The answer is inevitable: the Bible is not a book owned and written by Roman Catholics! It will be a pity to all Bible-believing people if Roman Catholics were the ones who wrote it!
Sins are purged not in the afterlife but here on earth!
The word used by Paul in his writing to the Hebrews, in the Greek Scriptures is καθαρισμός.
HEBREWS 1:3
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
καθαρισμός
katharismos (kath-ar-is-mos’)
From G2511; a washing off, that is, (ceremonially) ablution, (morally) expiation: – cleansing, + purge, purification, (-fying).
The Hebrew synonym (because he was writing to the Hebrews) is כּפר
kâphar (kaw-far’)
A primitive root; to cover (specifically with bitumen); figuratively to expiate or condone, to placate or cancel: – appease, make (an) atonement, cleanse, disannul, forgive, be merciful, pacify, pardon, to pitch, purge (away), put off, (make) reconcile (-liation).
* (Strong’s Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries, Dictionaries of Hebrew and Greek Words taken from Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance by James Strong, S.T.D., LL.D., 1890.)
Whether in Hebrew or in Greek, the phrase, purge our sins, translated in Latin as “purgationem peccatorum” means an act of atonement, the cleansing or ablution of sins, not a place which the Catholics were made to believe as “purgatory”.
HEBREWS 1:3
 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Before sitting on the right hand of the Majesty on High, “when He had by himself purged our sins,”means, that the purging was done while He was still on earth.
The earth is our home in this age, and the world to come will be our home in eternity.
Our home in this present age is:
THE ACTS 17:26
 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;
Our home in eternity will be:
JOHN 14:1-3
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
REVELATION 21:1-2
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Our earth or our home on this present age is the right place for the purging of our sins. This is the very reason why He came to this earth!
MATTHEW 1:21
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
How did He purge the sins of His people? By offering His body as a ransom for our sins.
HEBREWS 10:12
But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;
HEBREWS 10:10
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Being baptized as the Lord Jesus commanded is the way for us to be covered by the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus.
THE ACTS 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
THE ROMANS 6:4, 6
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
The purging of our sins must be done in this life on earth for us to be prepared to enter the abode of God and the Lord Jesus.
ECCLESIASTES 9:10
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
REVELATION 21:22, 27
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Souls of God’s servants rest in God’s domain and are not being purged in purgatory!
REVELATION 6:9-11
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
Will there be a stopover in purgatory? NONE! Why? Because there is no purgatory!

Salvation Outside the True Church (2)

Salvation Outside the True Church 2

We always welcome comments knowing that some will be favorable to us and others will be against us but still favorable to us! The truth will always have its enemy.
THE ACTS 13:10
And said, O full of all subtlety and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
The cohorts of the devil will even use lies to attempt to destroy the indestructible truth of God!
MATTHEW 5:11
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
But the truth, in whatever angle you look at it, will be the truth!
JOHN 17:17
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
The truth is fact! And here are the following facts. Let us look at things the biblically mathematical way, the biblically logical way, and the biblically sensible way that can be understood by the wise and the biblically prudent people!
I CORINTHIANS 10:15
I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
DANIEL 12:10
Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
The facts are:
1. The Lord Jesus built a church.
MATTHEW 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
2. It is not His own church that He built.
HEBREWS 3:4
For every house is builded by some man; but He that built all things is God.
3. He is talking and acting according to the instruction of the real builder and owner of the church which is God.
JOHN 12:49
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
JOHN 5:19 (RSV)
Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what He sees the Father doing; for whatever He does, that the Son does likewise.
JOHN 14:10
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
4. The church built by the Father through Christ is the Church of God.
II CORINTHIANS 1:1
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:
I TIMOTHY 3:15
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
5. The true church first existed in Jerusalem and the nearby areas of the Holy land.
ACTS 8:1
And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
6. Jerusalem is the designated starting point of the preaching of the church and salvation, and not Rome.
LUKE 24:47
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
7. The Lord Jesus can see the hearts of all people even beyond the boundaries of the Holy land.
JOHN 2:24-25
24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he
knew what was in man.
8. The Lord Jesus know that there are people considered as His sheep outside of the church, both within Jerusalem and beyond.
JOHN 10:16
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
ACTS 26:17-18
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
9. Not all people, especially the Gentiles, will hear the teachings and the law of Christ before they die, but will be justified. These certainly are not members of the true church, but because they have done the good things of the law, they will be saved come judgment day!
THE ROMANS 2:13-14
13  (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
MATTHEW 25:32-40
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand,
Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
These are not brethren in the church, but considered as sheep (those at the right hand) and have done good to the brethren of Christ in the church.
The sheep in the fold and those “other sheep” which are not of the fold will be brought by Christ and they all will have one shepherd.
JOHN 10:16, 3
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
The one shepherd mentioned is not anybody but Christ, the Lamb that will shepherd all those that will be saved.
REVELATION 7:17
For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Manalo has no pinch of capability to shepherd all the sheep of the Lord, even to call them by name, for no human can remember all the names of all those that will be saved, save the Lord Jesus who knows all men!
JOHN 2:24-25
24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
REVELATION 7:9, 13-14, 17 (RSV)
9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,
13 Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and whence have they come?”
14 I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
17 For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
10. The present population of the world can still be numbered.
World Population:
has reached 6 billion in 1999
is predicted to reach 7 billion on October 31, 2011
has doubled in 40 years from 1959 (3 billion) to 1999 (6 billion)
is currently growing at a rate of around 1.15 % per year
growth rate reached its peak in the late 1960s, when it was at 2%
growth rate is currently declining and is projected to continue to decline in the coming years
average annual population change is currently estimated at over 77 million
world population will nearly stabilize at just above 10 billion persons after 2200
a tremendous change occurred with the industrial revolution: whereas it had taken all of human history up to the year 1800 for world population to reach 1 billion, the second billion was achieved in only 130 years (1930), the third billion in less than 30 years (1959), the fourth billion in 15 years (1974), the fifth billion in 13 years (1987), the sixth billion in 12 years (1999) and the seventh billion in 12 years (2011). During the 20th century alone, the population in the world has grown from 1.65 billion to 6 billion.

Those sheep that will be saved cannot be counted by any human.
REVELATION 7:9
After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,
No established religion has reached this proportion of membership! Meanwhile, the members of the Catholic Church can easily be counted by an ordinary man with the aid of the computer! Even all the great religions of the world (great in number but not in any manner of truth and sanctity) can claim an innumerable membership, to wisely conclude, (except for insanity) that outside of their church there is no salvation!
See the logic?
Just me, but sincerely yours,
Bro. Eli

Salvation outside The True Church

Salvation Outside the True Church

Most of the religions established by man teach that outside their religion there is no salvation. Here are some of them with their documented claims:
CATHOLICISM
LA SALVACION DE LOS NO-CATOLICOS
CARTA DE LA SAGRADA CONGREGACION DEL SANTO OFICIO AL ARZOBISPO DE
BOSTON (MASSACHUSETTS, USA), DE FECHA 8 DE AGOSTO DE 1949.
CONTROVERSIA QUE SURGIO EN EL COLEGIO DE BOSTON SOBRE EL AXIOMA
QUE DICE:FUERA DE LA IGLESIA CATOLICA NO HAY SALVACION”.
UNAM SANCTAM
Bull of Pope Boniface VIII promulgated
      November 18, 1302
MORMONISM
Mormon scriptures claim that the LDS church is “the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth” ( HYPERLINK “http://www.leaderu.com/offices/michaeldavis/docs/mormonism/mormon-books.html” \l “scripture” Doctrine and Covenants, 1:30).
Joseph Smith stated: “This [the LDS] Church…is the only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth” ( HYPERLINK “http://www.leaderu.com/offices/michaeldavis/docs/mormonism/mormon-books.html” \l “scripture” Doctrine and Covenants 1:30).
President Ezra Taft Benson said: “This is not just another Church. This is not just one of a family of Christian churches. This is the Church and kingdom of God, the only true Church upon the face of the earth…” (Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, p.164-165).
Bruce McConkie stated:If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation. There is no salvation outside The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” ( HYPERLINK “http://www.leaderu.com/offices/michaeldavis/docs/mormonism/mormon-books.html” \l “doctrine” Mormon Doctrine, p.670).
JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES
You Can Live Forever in Paradise on Earth (p.255): “…there will only be one organization—God’s visible organization—that will survive the fast-approaching “great tribulation.” It is simply not true that all religions lead to the same goal. You must be part of Jehovah’s organization, doing God’s will, in order to receive his blessing of everlasting life.”
IGLESIA NI CRISTO (MANALO)
SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISM
Does the SDA church also teach that there is no salvation outside their church?
Seventh-day Adventist Church “Regardless of the pretext, or how righteous the cause
may appear, separation from the visible remnant [the SDA church] is
apostasy from the body of Christ.” (E.R. Bacchus, president of the Ontario
Conference of SDA, Canada, in Messenger, October, 1994, p 2).
If one of these is right, then, all the others are going to hell! Or, are all of them going to hell because of their presumptuous judgment that they are giving without a bit of hesitation?
JAMES 4:12 (RSV)
There is one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you that you judge your neighbor?
It is not the belief of the only one true church in the Bible to judge those who are outside!
I CORINTHIANS 5:13 (RSV)
God judges those outside. “Drive out the wicked person from among you.”
The judgment that these religious groups are passing on to those outside of their religious caprices will be the judgment for themselves!
MATTHEW 7:2 (RSV)
For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.
If we have to base our belief on the belief of the true church in the Bible, should we conclude that there is no salvation outside? Primarily considering reasons and logic, salvation starts outside of the true church!
THE ACTS 26:18
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
The first step to salvation happens outside the true church.
COLOSSIANS 1:12-14
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Those that were redeemed or saved from the power of darkness or satan is translated into the kingdom (church) of His dear Son.
Baptism is considered to be the formal act of affiliation or being a member of the church. After baptism, a person is considered inside the church. In the 1st century of our common era, the Gentiles, before baptism, (still outside) received the Holy Spirit.
THE ACTS 10:45-48
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
If the Holy Spirit is one with the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ in the work of salvation, then, it is Biblical to say that the work of salvation starts outside the true church! Which is this salvation? This is salvation from sins and the power of darkness or of satan.
EPHESIANS 2:1-2, 5
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, by (grace ye are saved;)
This is called salvation by grace without works because we are buried in sins in the power of darkness! How can we work or boast of any good work if we are dead in sins?
 EPHESIANS 2:8
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Notice the verb that was used in verse 8, “for by grace are ye saved”…. is in the past participle. People in the church are saved people. Saved from sins, from the power of darkness, from the power of satan! To say that there is no salvation outside the church is gross ignorance of the Bible!
After being saved from the power of darkness and translated to the kingdom or to the church, what comes next? We are waiting for the coming of the Savior.
TITUS 2:13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;
As Savior, when He comes, He will be bringing salvation, other than that which was experienced by the members of the true church when they were saved from sins. This is yet another salvation, salvation from the wrath that is to come.
I THESSALONIANS 1:10 (RSV)
and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
But if we are to examine the context of the Scriptures, must we believe that only those inside the church be the only ones to be saved from the wrath to come? Let us examine this in a profound Biblical manner.
The Lord Jesus, when He was on earth, said:
JOHN 10:16
And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
The fact is, there are sheep that are not of the fold or the church. They are not among the flock. The flock is the church.
THE ACTS 20:28
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
“….other sheep I have, which are not of this fold….”
The Lord Jesus Christ is saying that there are sheep outside of the flock or the church, and He will save them also!
The thief in the cross was not baptized in the church, nor was numbered among the 1st century Christians!
THE ACTS 2:47
Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
I CORINTHIANS 15:6
After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
But nobody in his proper senses will deny that the Lord Jesus is going to save the thief come judgment day! Won’t this be sufficient to disprove the malicious claims and caprices of many insane religious leaders?
LUKE 23:39-43
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.
But will the thief be just a simple exception to the rule? Are there other human beings that will be saved outside of the true church?
Wait for another Biblical revelation in the next blog to follow God willing!
Sincerely,
Bro. Eli
