iReport —On the 31st anniversary of Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path),
a special presentation will be aired by UNTV on October 31 to
celebrate and pay tribute to the contribution of the award-winning
program and its host in the society.
UNTV airs the special presentation from 9 a.m. to 12 n.n. A continuation of the first part will follow at 8 a.m. to 12 m.n.
From answering biblical queries of live audience to mounting blood donation drives and tree-planting activities, to rendering humanitarian reliefs and other public charities, Ang Dating Daan has been commended by a number of private and government sectors for inspiring change and transforming lives for the better.
Thirty one years after introducing biblical exposition on Philippine airwaves, Ang Dating Daan, hosted by Bro Eli Soriano, has grown into one of the most recognized religious shows in more than 50 countries today.
To
date, the program has established its presence in India, Europe, and
the South American continent. Apart from radio and television, Ang
Dating Daan’s broadcast has branched out into the Web with Bro Eli's
live webcast through Livestream.com.
Bro Eli is an internationally-recognized evangelist, who in 2009 won the prestigious Most Educational Blogger to Follow award from Mashable.com, besting more than 400,000 nominees worldwide: a first for a Filipino in the said online competition.
At
the Oscars's for Twitter, Shorty Awards, the preacher earned third
place last year when his @BroEliSoriano earned a finalist slot in the TV Show category.
From early 80s to mid-90s, he was a consistent leadership awardee from
various media and socio-civic groups in the Philippines.
Overseas,
his Bible Expositions are well-attended with visitors wondering why
the truth that Bro Eli preaches only arrived to them recently. Some are
asking how someone from the Philippines is capable of memorizing the
Bible and holding such seemingly endless reserve of biblical wisdom.
From answering biblical queries of live audience to mounting blood donation drives and tree-planting activities, to rendering humanitarian reliefs and other public charities, Ang Dating Daan has been commended by a number of private and government sectors for inspiring change and transforming lives for the better.
